A stormy Saturday for NJ metro. What about Sunday?

Latest post: 5:45pm -- 1/10/2014

After some snow and ice this morning... a second weather system is on the way...
It is fast on the heels of this morning's mess, so the clouds have stuck with us, with some light rain, drizzle, and fog remaining as well.
Thankfully, temperatures are above freezing, so re-freezing of the melted ice and snow, and wet roadways, will not be an issue tonight. Readings will approach 40 degrees this evening, and likely rise above 40 overnight for all areas.

*** The stronger storm approaches late tonight ***
* A Flood Watch is in effect from 11am Saturday until 6am Sunday *

Showers will be moving in to south Jersey after midnight, with the rest of NJ, NYC, and Long Island, getting wet before dawn.
Saturday morning is also expected to be wet ... with perhaps a break between 11am through 1pm...
The second wave of rain will be stronger ... with steady rain returning after 2pm ... becoming heavy late in the afternoon through a part of Saturday night.
One to two inches are likely, with some locally higher amounts possible.
Lightning and thunder may be around, especially between 5pm and 9pm.

Winds become gusty during the afternoon and tomorrow night... reaching 25-35mph, perhaps a bit higher along the coast, or in localized thunderstorms.

***...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM EST SATURDAY...***
