Weekend weather update for NJ metro

Latest post: 6:55pm -- 9/27/2013

A dry weekend ahead... with partly to mostly sunny skies expected.
Temperatures will top out in the lower 70s each afternoon...
Evening readings will mainly be in the 60s.

Computer models continue to keep a large storm out in the ocean on Monday -- with perhaps some overcast conditions for Long Island -- but the rain, at this point, is forecast to remain offshore.

Areas along our NJ beaches, and for Long Island, will feel some indirect effects from this storm tomorrow through Monday with high surf and ocean swells, so take caution if you are at these beach locations.
If you have travel plans to Cape Cod, Massachusetts or coastal Maine for the start of the new work-week, these areas are expected to get wet.

A weakening cold front on Monday will also keep our rain-free weather streak going through the end of this month.
October temperatures are forecast to start out above normal, with highs reaching 80 degrees, with mainly sunny skies.
The next weather front is not expected to arrive until next weekend.

Updates will be posted again tomorrow, or sooner if needed.
