8:45am radar update for NJ metro

8:45am radar update:
An area of light, to perhaps moderate rain continues for central and southern New Jersey...
Another area of precipitation is affecting the Philadelphia area and is expanding...

This is likely to move into central NJ, NYC and Long Island in the next 60 - 90 minutes...
Temperatures are below freezing across most, if not all, of this region, and the rain is freezing on contact.
Use caution when stepping outside on all untreated areas, such as your porch and sidewalk.
Secondary roads will also have a thin glaze of ice, and will be slippery.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by late this morning for central and southern NJ/ NYC and Long Island ... and by early this afternoon for northern and northwestern NJ... and precipitation will change to rain.

More updates as needed.
