Showers and some gusty winds are moving through central NJ, and will be moving into the rest of the Garden state and New York City and Long Island by 10am.
Another area of showers may clip the northwestern counties of New Jersey between 10:15am and 10:30am.
After these showers, there can be a break in the rain (other than some drizzle) until 2pm or so....
A second area of rain looks to arrive in southern NJ by 2 - 2:30pm, and then the rest of NJ/ NYC, and Long Island by 3pm or so...
It appears that the heaviest rain, with lightning and thunder possible as well, will arrive between 5 and 6pm...
The threat for downpours looks to end by 9pm for NJ, 10pm for NYC, and 11pm for Long Island.
