Latest post: 10:30am -- 5/2/2013

More sunshine is expected for today, along with the warmest temperatures of the week. Highs will top out around 75 degrees for much of New Jersey, New York City, and Long Island. It may be a bit cooler along the beaches, with a sea-breeze in the air.

Tonight will be clear and chilly once again, as temperatures drop to between 45 and 50 degrees, with some lower 40s for NW New Jersey, as well as parts of Long Island.

Friday, to end the week, will feature plenty of sun. High temperatures will be a bit cooler, reaching 65 to 70 inland, and closer to 60 along the coast.

Saturday and Sunday brings warmer temperatures again, along with mostly sunny skies. Highs reach the lower 70s inland and around 65 degrees at the shore.

More dry and sunny weather looks to continue for Monday, along with similar temperatures.

Weather note:
*** This prolonged period of dry weather increases the fire danger threat **
If you are outside, be careful using matches when barbecuing, as ground conditions are very dry, and even a light breeze can spread fire fairly quickly.

*** Drink plenty of fluids as well. Low humidity, and warm temperatures, increases dehydration quickly ***

** Individuals with allergies are also feeling increased sensitivity to the dry conditions **

The next chance of rain does not look to arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday.
