MAY COUNTIES.
A CODE ORANGE AIR QUALITY ALERT MEANS THAT AIR POLLUTION
CONCENTRATIONS WITHIN THE REGION MAY BECOME UNHEALTHY FOR
SENSITIVE GROUPS. SENSITIVE GROUPS INCLUDE CHILDREN...PEOPLE
SUFFERING FROM ASTHMA... HEART DISEASE OR OTHER LUNG
DISEASES...AND THE ELDERLY. THE EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION CAN
BE MINIMIZED BY AVOIDING STRENUOUS ACTIVITY OR EXERCISE OUTDOORS.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the lower 90s away from the coast, with upper 70s at the beaches. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny.
Tonight will be another muggy night, with partly cloudy skies. Lows only drop into the lower 70s late, with some upper 60s in the suburbs.
Saturday continues with more sunshine -- with some clouds arriving in the afternoon. Temperatures may reach 90 degrees inland for a 3rd consecutive day. If this is achieved, it would make it an official heat wave.
A shower or thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon, particularly for northern and western sections of New Jersey.
Sunday remains humid, but not as hot, with increasing clouds. Temperatures top out between 80 and 85 inland, with upper 70s at the shore. Showers and thunderstorms become likely by late in the day or evening -- some of which could be heavy, and will be monitored for severe possibilities.
Sunday night has a good chance of showers with locally heavy thunderstorms. Readings will mainly be in the 70s.
More rain and humid weather starts off the new work-week on Monday, with highs in the 70s to around 80. Once again, some of the rain will be heavy.
The weather front for Monday is now expected to clear the area in time for Tuesday, returning the sun along with lower humidity and pleasant temperatures in the 70s.
Wednesday continues with sunshine and similar temperatures.
