Hot topic for the Garden state today

Video is from around 2:30pm -- 5/30/2013

Latest post: 3:45pm - 5/30/2013

Sunshine, along with heat and humidity will continue today. Temperatures are expected to top out around 90 degrees inland, with cooler upper 70s to lower 80s at the shore. There is no chance of rain through this evening.

Tonight remains muggy, with partly cloudy skies. Lows only fall to the lower 70s for urban NJ and NYC, with some upper 60s for the NJ suburbs, as well as Long Island.

Friday features more of the same, with plenty of sunshine and humid conditions. Highs reach the lower 90s away from the coast, with upper 70s to lower 80s at the beaches.

Saturday could see some afternoon clouds, and perhaps an afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm, particularly for NW sections of New Jersey.
Temperatures may fall short of 90 degrees inland, but if this achieved, it will officially be classified as a heat wave, since that day would make it 3 consecutive afternoons of 90 degrees or higher.

Sunday remains muggy -- with warm temperatures -- between 80 and 85 degrees away from the shore, and about 75 at the coast. A better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms arrive by evening or at night.

The best chance for rain comes on Monday, to start the new work-week, as a weather front will be in the area. Humidity level stay high, with temperatures in the 70s to around 80 degrees.
Some of the rain will have heavy downpours.
This weather front may stall, keeping wet weather around on Tuesday.
