Brighter and warmer for NJ metro today

After a mostly cloudy, and showery middle of the week, today is expected to turn warmer, with more sunshine.

This afternoon will reach a high of 80 degrees for inland areas, with shore locations topping out between 60 and 65 degrees. Some clouds arrive during the afternoon, and a shower or thunderstorm is possible for northern and western NJ by evening.

Tonight is expected to be cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms likely for all areas. Temperatures fall into the 50s to around 60.

The weekend starts off wet on Saturday with more rain. Highs reach between 70 and 75 degrees.
Showers and thunderstorms continue Saturday night, likely ending between 8pm and 10pm. Temperatures will be in the 60s.

** Mothers Day Sunday looks brighter again, with partly to mostly sunny skies. It will be windy, gusting up to 30mph at times, as highs reach the mid- and upper 60s. **

The new-work week starting off on Monday will be sunny and cool, with temperatures topping out between 60 and 65 degrees.

More sunny, dry, and cool weather continues for Tuesday and Wednesday.
