Weekend weather update for NJ metro

Latest post: 6:10pm -- 6/21/2013

We've made it a "triple play" today -- with 3 consecutive beautiful afternoons, and we're rounding third trying to make it a four-bagger to start the weekend...

Tonight remains clear, and continued comfortable. Temperatures fall into the 60s for many areas, with some upper 50s for the suburbs.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs between 80 and 85 inland, and lower 70s for the shore.

Sunday overall is not going to see an end to the streak of nice weather. However, a weak weather disturbance will be crossing the area in the afternoon, and there is a 30% chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm, particularly for northern and western New Jersey. Highs should be warmer away from the coast, reach the mid- to upper 80s. Cooler readings will be found at the beaches.

For Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, hot temperatures are expected. Highs will top out around 90 degrees inland, with upper 70s at the coast. Each afternoon can see some scattered showers and thunderstorms.
