A nice weather day coming for NJ metro

Latest post: 6:05pm -- 6/11/2013

Weather update:
A couple of scattered showers were noted on radar in northern New Jersey, moving toward Long Island...
These should dissipate within the hour in NJ, and on Long Island by 8pm, with the rest of the metro area seeing partly sunny, then partly cloudy skies this evening, with all areas clearing overnight.

Tomorrow will be the only day this week when no chance of rain is expected from sunrise to sunset. Temperatures on Wednesday should reach 80 degrees inland, and in the upper 60s and lower 70s at the shore.

** Better than 50/50 confidence that another soaking rain is on schedule to arrive Thursday. **

At this time, northern NJ, NYC, and Long Island could see 1 -2 inches of rain, with closer to 1-inch totals for central and southern NJ. These details may change depending on the exact track of this upcoming storm. Regardless of the rain amounts, all areas have saturated ground, and it will not take much to renew the flooding conditions once again.

Friday is likely to start out wet early in the morning, with some sun for the afternoon.

** The weekend looks great, with no wet weather in sight for either day, and highs in the 70s to around 80 degrees. **

More details on Thursday's storm in my next post.
