8:25am NJ metro radar update

Heavy rain will arrive in the Garden state between 9 and 9:30am, and for NYC and Long Island between 9:30am and 10am.

** A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10am for central and southern NJ **
The thunderstorms will occur shortly after the initial heavy rain. Typically the heavy rain band often weakens the thunderstorms behind it. This will be monitored to see if the severe threat is maintained in the next hour or so.
