9:00am Tuesday update:
Any sun this morning will give way to clouds soon...
Weather models continue to indicate the showers and thunderstorms will arrive around 1pm in southern and southwestern NJ first, then spread north and east into the rest of the Garden state between 1:30 and 2pm, and for NYC and Long Island between 2pm and 3pm respectively.
Many of the showers will have heavy downpours, and the thunderstorms may turn severe.
More updates will be posted as radar images show these storms developing.
