Another weather system on Tuesday for NJ metro

Latest post:11:55pm -- 6/17/0213

The new workweek began warm and humid, with many parts of the New Jersey metro area seeing showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

One more weather system is on tap for this week, before a period of storm-free conditions for several days.

Tonight will be mainly clear. Lows fall into the 60s for much of the area.

Tuesday could see some sun early -- with clouds by mid-morning returning. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the afternoon. Most weather models indicate the time to be between 1pm and 3pm. Overnight weather data will provide a better estimate, and this will be updated in the morning. Some of these storms are forecasted to be heavy, to possibly severe, and this will be monitored during the day. Highs top out in the lower 70s at the coast, to the lower 80s inland.
More showers and locally severe thunderstorms continue through Tuesday evening, with some left-over showers for Tuesday night. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 60s once again.

By Wednesday, this weather front slowly moves away. Some cloudiness and a bit of rain is possible in the morning, then skies should clear during the afternoon. Temperatures reach between 80 and 85 away from the shore, with cooler readings at the beaches.

*** A nice, dry, rain-free time period expected Thursday, through the upcoming weekend ***
Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected each afternoon, along with low humidity and pleasant temperatures -- reaching the upper 70s and lower 80s for all areas.
