The weekend ended on a sunny note, with temperatures reaching 80 degrees for many areas...
During the overnight, clouds will be on the increase, with temperatures only dropping into the 60s for NJ metro and New York City, with some upper 50s possible for the suburbs of the Garden State and Long Island.
** One to two inches of new rainfall for start of the new week **
Wake-up conditions on Monday are expected to be cloudy but dry. Showers move in around 10am for NJ, 11am for NYC, and Noon for Long Island. Rain will become heavy at times during the afternoon, along with the chance of thunderstorms. Flooding is possible on streets and highways, as well as some rivers, and will be monitored.
Temperatures will top out around 70 degrees inland, and around 65 degrees at the coast.
More rain, heavy at times, with some rumbles of thunder expected Monday night, along with humid temperatures mainly in the 60s.
Flooding will be monitored once again.
Tuesday continues with the chance for wet weather, although it will be more scattered, and heavy rain is not expected at this time. Highs on Tuesday reach between 75 and 80 degrees.
Wednesday should average out partly sunny with highs around 80 degrees.
Thursday may see rain again with cooler temperatures.
Friday should turn brighter and warmer.
