Hot temperatures for today and Wednesday --
Highs will reach 90 degrees or better for many places away from the coast. Showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon -- some with heavy downpours.
The weather models are indicating a higher threat of showers and thunderstorms for Thursday and Friday -- with flooding possible.
The end of the week should not be as hot, but quite humid, with highs in the 80s to around 90 degrees.
