NJ metro area work-week forecast

Latest post: 12:50pm -- 6/10/2013

A weather front has moved in, causing a wet start to the work-week...

Some heavy rain has already fallen for parts of NJ, New York City and Long Island this morning.
Many areas in New Jersey have seen a break in the wet weather, but will be getting wet again this afternoon and this evening, along with the rest of the metro area.
There will be heavy rain along with some thunderstorms, and flooding will be common for many locations.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the 60s to around 70 degrees.

Tonight continues with showers and thunderstorms, and flooding potential will be monitored. Lows only fall to around 60 degrees for most areas.
** A Flood watch remains in effect through tonight **

Tuesday begins with clouds and some rain, with the afternoon hours seeing a scattering of showers, but heavy rain is not anticipated at this time during the second half of the day. Highs will reach between 75 and 80 degrees inland, and the upper 60s at the beaches.

Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny, with more clouds in the evening and at night. Daytime temperatures will reach the 70s to around 80 degrees away from the shore, with cooler readings at the coast. Night-time temperatures drop into the 60s.

** Thursday has the POTENTIAL for another heavy rain event, which will be determined by future weather models and updates **

Friday should see the sun return, which is expected to continue for Saturday and Sunday making for a great upcoming weekend -- with highs each day around 80 degrees for all areas!
