A rainy Friday has produced flooding in many areas of the Garden state, New York City, and Long Island...
Flood advisories and flash flood warning warnings continue for many locations, and 2 to 3 inches of rain has already fallen, with an additional 1 to 3 inches on the way...
This evening and the overnight hours will see rain, heavy at times, along with a rumble or two of thunder. Flooding on the streets and some rivers will be common across the region. Windy conditions will be felt as well, gusting to 30mph at times. Temperatures will remain between 60 and 65 for much of the region.
Improvements for the weekend:
The rain is expected to end Saturday morning, around 4 or 5am in southern New Jersey, between 5am and 6am in central New Jersey, and between 7 and 8am for the remainder of the Garden state, NYC, and Long Island.
There will be some breaks of sunshine by mid-morning through lunch-time, and high temperatures should reach at least 75 degrees inland, perhaps even 80 degrees with more-than-expected sunny breaks. It will be cooler along the coast.
There is the possibility of a shower or thunderstorm after 3pm, but this is a low chance (30%), and widespread rain and flooding are not expected.
Sunday turns out partly sunny and warm, with highs topping out between 75 and 80 degrees, and 60s at the beaches.
By Monday, a new storm will be approaching, allowing for rain to return, which is likely to continue into Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to reach the 70s.
