Updated metro NJ forecast

Latest post: 11:35pm -- 6/26/2013

In the general sense, the forecast is straight-forward...
Showers and thunderstorms are a possibility each day through Monday...
The time and locations that will see the heaviest rain is very difficult to pin-point now, and will best be determined by radar during the up-coming days.

A warm and humid air mass will be in place for the next several days, and disturbances in the atmosphere will help produce showers and locally heavy thunderstorms right into next week.
It is not expected to rain all the time, with dry periods, and sunny breaks in the forecast as well.

The next weather disturbance is forecast to arrive tomorrow afternoon...
** Flood watches have been put into effect for northern New Jersey, NYC, and Long Island as this arrives -- and 1 - 2 inches of rain is expected for these areas, with lesser amounts for central and southern New Jersey. **

For Friday and the weekend, more chances for rain exist -- with flooding is possible, which will be monitored.

The opportunity for wet weather continues for Monday.

To summarize.. Until further notice, the pattern is in place for periodic showers and thunderstorms, with downpours common, but not all areas will get wet, and it will not be raining all the time.

More updates to come.
