Two weather systems to arrive for NJ metro today and tomorrow

Latest post: 12:30pm -- 10/16/2013

Weather update for Thursday night and Friday:

The weakening cold front will only produce a scattered shower or two later today and tonight. It will then stall near the area tomorrow...

This will allow the low pressure system down to our south to move north, toward us, bringing us a better chance to get wet.

Clouds may start off the day, with the afternoon staying rain-free, with partly sunny skies. Highs tomorrow will be in the 70s for much of the area.

By Thursday night, showers are likely -- beginning around 8 or 9pm -- continuing through much of the night. A period of stead rain is possible as well.
The wet weather will end between 4 and 5am early Friday morning, so the commute into work will be dry.

The rest of Friday is expected to be mainly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

The weekend forecast will be updated in my next post.
