Satellite weather update for NJ metro

Latest post: 12:00pm -- 10/17/2013

I am thinking the brightest opportunity for the NJ/NYC/ Long Island metro area will be between 2 - 4 pm.
The weather system to our south continues to show signs of tracking west of our area tonight.... So, low impacts can be expected.

If you are traveling to, or from the Pittsburgh region, or to the Catskills/Poconos -- these locations can experience some steady rain later this afternoon and this evening.

Showers will arrive here between 8 and 9pm.
Rainfall amounts will range between .10 - .20 (one-tenth to one-fifth) of an inch of rain -- with the lower amounts for the NJ coast, NYC, as well as Long island, and the higher amount in northwest NJ.

The weather system is a quick-mover, and the threat to get wet will be already be over between 2am - 4am Friday morning.

Radar images will be watched tonight to post any changes as necessary.
