Video weather update for NJ metro

The hottest day of this week today...

Temperatures topped out in the lower to middle 90s away from the shore, with coastal areas reaching the lower to middle 80s. Humidity levels remain high.

A shower or thunderstorm is possible this evening, particularly for northern and western NJ.

The rest of tonight turns out partly cloudy, with some patchy fog after midnight. Much of the evening will see temperatures in the low to mid- 80s, with lows only falling into the lower to mid-70s.

Tomorrow will start off with sunshine and temperatures in in the upper 70s. Highs are expected to reach the mid- to upper 80s, with increasing clouds in the afternoon.
Late in the day and by evening, showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop.
Some will have heavy downpours and gusty winds. Severe weather possibilities will be monitored as well.

The threat for heavy, gusty storms continues Thursday night, with readings mainly in the 70s.

Friday will be much cooler, along with a brisk breeze. Highs top out in the 70s, with falling temperatures during the day. There is a 30% chance for showers later on. 

The weekend will start out chilly each morning, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, with mostly sunny skies each afternoon, and highs in the upper 60s to mid- 70s.
