Friday afternoon weather update for NJ metro

A fantastic Friday continues, with sunny skies, and warm temperatures, reaching 80 degrees in a few spots inland, with upper 70s for the rest of the area, and 70-75 degrees at the beaches.

Tonight remains mainly clear, with temperatures in the 50s to lower 60s.
Tomorrow into early Sunday morning will be the only change in our nice weather for the next 5-7 days...

A weather front will slowly approach the area on Saturday...
This morning's weather models have slowed the arrival time of the rain.
Much of the day is expected to be dry, but not as bright, with increasing clouds, and highs mainly in the mid- to upper 70s.
The wet weather will first arrive in western and southwestern NJ between 6pm and 8pm, and then overspread the rest of the Garden state, NYC and Long Island between 9pm and 11pm. Some heavy rain, with some lightning and thunder, is likely overnight Saturday.
On Sunday, the rain will be ending first in New Jersey between 5am-6am, NYC between 6am-7am, and for Long Island between 7am- 8am.

Much of Sunday will see partly to mostly sunny skies, along with a gusty breeze. Temperatures will top out between 70-75.

Next week looks to begin another long stretch of dry, sunny weather, with highs mainly in the 70s.

Another update on the rain coming soon.
