Weekend weather update for NJ metro

Latest post: 1:10pm -- 7/19/2013

A cold front will put an end to the current heat wave...

Saturday is expected to make 7 straight days of 90-plus-degree temperatures, with the arrival of this next weather system forecast to arrive late in the afternoon, or early evening.
Temperatures tomorrow can range from 93 to as high as 98 if it arrives closer to sunset...
Showers and thunderstorms are likely, and severe weather potential will be monitored, as storms move east and southeast from Pennsylvania and New York State...
Rain and thunderstorms will break the heat tomorrow night...

There are differences on whether this front will clear our region entirely, or stall near us, and keep a storm system around for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Either way, it will be cooler, with highs between 80 ad 85 degrees; it is only a question of whether the cooler air will also include clouds and rain.

More details as they become available.

Heat advisories of course remain for the entire area through this evening.
