The heat wave continues for NJ metro today

Latest post: 2:55pm -- 7/8/2013

It's another hot one out there -- but not as high in the temperature department compared to Sunday...
Highs today will top out around 90 degrees -- extending our heat wave to a 5th straight day...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in southwestern New Jersey as of this post, and more of the area can see a heavy downpour along with a rumble of thunder later this afternoon...

Tonight might see a shower or thunderstorm early, otherwise skies will be partly cloudy. Lows fall to between 70 and 75 for much of the region.

The rest of the week is shown by the weather models to feature more of the same... partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. It is expected to be slightly cooler along the shore.
Showers and thunderstorms will be around each afternoon, with the best chance for rain coming later Thursday into Friday.

This next weather front might linger into part of the upcoming weekend.
