Saturday sunshine for NJ metro

Latest post: 1:50pm -- 8/17/2013

After a nice end to the week, the weekend is off to a sunny start...

Some high clouds may filter the sun at times for the rest of the afternoon, as highs reach the lower 80s for much of the area.

Tonight turns out partly to mostly cloudy, but it will remain dry. Lows fall in the upper 50s in the suburbs, and parts of Long Island, to the lower 60s for much of urban New Jersey and New York City.

During Sunday, a storm system will come close to the area, so a mainly cloudy day is expected, with some rain possible for southern New Jersey and eastern Long Island.
** The details will be better determined by model data later this afternoon **.
Temperatures tomorrow top out between 75 and 80 degrees.

Monday has the return of partly sunny skies and highs around 80 degrees.

The rest of next week will see partly to mostly sunny skies, with warmer temperatures, reaching the mid- to upper 80s, and perhaps 90 degrees in a few spots. Rain is not expected from Monday through Friday.
