11:30am NJ metro weather update



Clouds will prevent temperatures from making it 3 consecutive afternoons reaching 90 degrees...
Highs today will top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s for northern and central NJ, NYC and Long Island, and the mid-80s for southern NJ.
A weather front will likely cause more showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon...
Wet weather is already affecting northwestern New Jersey ... and more of the metro area is expected to see unsettled weather between 2pm and 3pm today.  Severe weather will be monitored, but not expected. Downpours and gusty winds will be most common with the storms.

The weather front will clear the area late tonight, setting up several days of sunshine, low humidity, and pleasant temperatures.

NORTHERN SOMERSET COUNTY AND EXTREME NORTHEAST HUNTERDON COUNTY...
WITH TWO INCHES OR MORE IN THE LAST HOUR. THIS AREA INCLUDES THE
TOWNSHIPS OF TEWKSBURY, NORTHERN BEDMINSTER, PEAPACK-GLADSTONE,
NORTHERN FAR HILLS AND WESTERN BERNARDSVILLE. A CAR FLOOD/RESCUE
SITUATION WAS REPORTED IN OLDWICK IN HUNTERDON COUNTY.
