The NJ weekend weather system from Space...
In the middle of this picture (in white) are clouds associated with the next quick weather-maker -- which should only have minimal impacts (a few showers) for New Jersey, and will still keep 80% of the weekend dry.
Weekend Weather System
If you look closely, you will find the United States.... and if you look even closer, you will se NJ to the right of the map...A weather system indicated by the green color in NY and PA (which is actually a forecasted area for rain) will be moving in later Saturday or Saturday night. Indications are that the rain will move in and out fairly quickly, so that Sunday should also turn out fairly nice. More details to come.

Tropical Update
From the storm desk -- Tropical storm Lee will be a top news story along the Gulf coast through the weekend. Louisiana appears to to have the highest threat from flooding, as the center of Lee will be closest to that state, with New Orleans far below sea level, making residents highly susceptible to storm surge.
The northeast will have a pretty good weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday -- with a 30% chance of rain. By Labor Day -- rain chances increase past 50%, especially by late afternoon.
Elsewhere -- the focus in the Atlantic remains on Hurricane Katia. Weather models continue to show its position to be about 200 miles off the East coast by late next week-- anywhere from Florida to NewEngland -- as is typical this far out. This will be monitored in the coming days.
Questions and comments are welcome.
