Track of Sandy toward New Jersey


Hurricane Sandy update: Sandy is on track to begin affecting Washington D.C., and Philadelphia by Sunday afternoon, all of New Jersey and New York City by Sunday evening and Sunday night respectively. Rain and wind are not expected to be particularly heavy at these times -- reaching between 20 and 30mph .. but will increase in intensity overnight Sunday...
By 6am Monday, wind speeds are expected to reach 40mph in Washington and Philadelphia, as the rain will heavy in these area at this time as well.
New Jersey and NYC will begin to feel the increases in wind and rain intensity around, or shortly after the Monday morning commute ...
I wil attempt to provide a more specific timeline, rainfall amounts, and wind speeds for the major metro areas during the day today...
One thing of important note: Be aware of slippery sidewalks and roadways from existing, and falling leaves, which will become wet...
