Snow is coming for New Jersey

Winter storm update: The overnight hours of Thursday will remain overcast but dry. The storm will begin to affect New Jersey, NYC and Long Island during Friday morning,  with perhaps a light coating of new snow. Much of the daylight hours of Friday will see a mix of rain and snow -- with 1 or 2 inches of snow possible. Around 5 or 6pm, the mix of rain/snow is expected to change back to all snow in Northern NJ, around 7pm for NYC and central New Jersey, and between 8 and 9pm for Long Island. The snow will fall heavy at times Friday evening and night, and accumulate very quickly, with most of the accumulating snow piling up between 10pm Friday night and 5am Saturday morning, when snowfall rates could be 1 to 2 inches per hour. Snowfall amounts for NYC and western Long Island are expected to range from 8 - 10 inches, and 10 - 14 inches for Eastern Long Island. For New Jersey, for counties from Middlesex counties points north and west, 6 - 10 inches of the white stuff will fall. In southern New Jersey, 3 - 6 inches of snow is expected.
The snow will end by early to mid-morning on Saturday.
The accumulations will be fine-tuned again tomorrow.
Stay tuned.
